Get ready for some spectacular short take off and landings with the Graupner Husky 1800. Whether you fly from grass, dirt, water or snow the Husky 1800 will be airborne in no time just like the full size Aviat Husky.

The included Tundra wheels will ensure smooth take-offs from rugged terrain and with the optional ski’s or floats you will own a true allrounder airplane that can be flown from different terrain conditions and even at night with the included ultra-bright navigation, strobe and landing lights. If you are into towing sailplanes the included tow assembly mechanics will let you tow sailplanes up to 2 meters in wingspan (requires separate servo).

Made from SOLIDPOR® the Husky 1800 has the fit and finish you are used to see from Graupner. The control surfaces are recessed in the wings resulting in a visually appealing look combined with the strength you need to fly your maneuvers and nail down your landings.

Attaching and locking the wings is easy with the proven lock mechanism that requires no screws or tools. This will make the Husky 1800 easy to transport and setup at the field. All you need is a 4S 2200 mAh battery which ensures sufficient thrust and flight time. The Husky 1800 comes with all the electronics installed and all servos are already connected to the control surfaces. Any six-channel radio will be sufficient to operate and fly the airplane.

The scale appearance of the Husky 1800 does not take away from the excellent flying characteristics and docile handling in STOL configuration.

  • Fast and easy assembly
  • Quick wing release mechanism
  • Easy access to battery and equipment
  • Carbon fiber wing joiner
  • Recessed control surfaces for scale appearance
  • All control surfaces are hinged with quality bolted hinges
  • Three multi-color vinyl design schemes
  • Included large tundra wheels
  • Optional ski’s, floats are sailplane towing
  • Short take-off and landing (STOL)
  • LED lights for navigation, landing and strobe
  • Strong aluminum main landing gear

  • Husky 1800 with servos, ESC and LED controller
  • Tundra wheels
  • Spinner and Propeller
  • Screws and small parts
  • Decals for three different color designs

The Husky flies well and can take a beating. All of my crashes that broke items such as the spar, motor shaft, struts and 2 servos have been from flat spinning into a landing after loosing power. my recommendation is to replace the aileron servos with metal gear servos (flaps are up to you) and replace the esc with one of the telemetry escs. Build quality is very high and goes together rather easily.

Husky 1800S
The Husky arrived at my home in perfect condition - the kit was well packaged. The overall finish of the plane is excellent, all it does not look like a foam airplane. The assembly of the plane is very straight forward with no surprises. The part fit is excellent and all parts were included. A very nice touch for the kit is the included Tundra tires with axles. The look with the stock tires and wheel pant is nice, but the tundra tires look best. The graphics are pleasing - I was provided with three sets of graphics for the Husky. I went with the red for best visibility for me. The others were really nice, but I liked the red best. There are no servos, motor, esc to install, it is all done by the factory. I would have to supply a servo if I decided to install the glider release, which I did not. The kit comes with a prop, prop adapter and spinner. After the initial flight I replaced the prop with a 12 x 6 as the performance with the 13 x 4 I did not feel was very good. I used a 4c 3000 maHa LiPo for power. The plane balanced on the mark with the battery inserted in the compartment touching the rear bulkhead. I like the strut attachment, which is simple and secure. I did find getting the wing on, maneuvering the strut, getting the servo wires out of the way cumbersome ( not impossible, but a third hand would help). Flying the plane was disappointing. I found the plane very mushy, particularly in making turns (I used coupled ailerons and rudder) and it lacked response. If you are new to the hobby and have assistance it would be a good choice. However, if you are a flyer it may not be your best choice. I have given the plane three stars for the completeness of the kit, finish, and overall quality.
